Privacy Policy

Welcome to LeapLocus! LeapLocus is a platform designed to connect hospitality professionals with shift-based work opportunities at hotels and other venues. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our mobile application (“App”) and related services.

We have written this policy in plain, easy-to-understand language because we value your trust and want you to know exactly how we handle your personal data.

1. Information We Collect

To provide our service and connect you with shifts, we collect several types of information:

A. Personal Information You Provide

When you create an account, complete your profile, or communicate with us, we collect:

  • Account details: Your full name, email address, and phone number.
  • Profile photo: A photo of yourself to help partner hotels identify you when you arrive for a shift.
  • Professional background: Your educational qualifications, the institute you attended, and relevant experience.
  • Address details: Your street address, city, postal code, and country.
  • Identity Verification: Information required to verify you are eligible to work.

B. Location Data

LeapLocus is a location-based service. With your permission, we collect precise or approximate location data from your mobile device:

  • Why we need it: We use your location to show you available shifts and hotels nearby, calculate your distance from a job site (e.g., “1.2 km away”), and verify your attendance when checking in or checking out of a shift.
  • How to control it: You can enable or disable location access at any time through your device settings or the “Manage Location” option inside your profile tab. If you disable location services, you may not be able to see shifts near you or check in to your booked shifts.

C. Shift and Booking Information

We keep track of the shifts you interact with, including:

  • Shifts you view, book, complete, or cancel.
  • Check-in and check-out timestamps.
  • Ratings and feedback from hotels about your performance, as well as your average rating.

D. Financial and Payout Information

When you earn money through completed shifts and request a withdrawal:

  • We track your total earnings, pending payments, service charges, and net withdrawable balance.
  • We collect the payment details (such as bank account info or digital wallet details) necessary to transfer your funds to you.
  • We maintain a record of your withdrawal request history and payout statuses.

E. Technical and Device Information

We automatically collect certain information when you use the App:

  • Device model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
  • IP address, log files, network connection details, and app performance stats (like crash reports).
  • Notification tokens (such as Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens) so we can send push updates to your device.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to run LeapLocus, including:

  • Connecting you to jobs: Matching you with available hospitality shifts in your selected city.
  • Verification: Allowing partner hotels to verify who you are, your qualifications, and your average rating before and during a shift.
  • Processing Payments: Calculating your earnings, applying service charges, and sending payouts to your bank or wallet.
  • App Functionality: Giving you access to your profile, shift history, wallet balance, and notification history.
  • Communications: Sending push notifications and SMS updates about booking confirmations, shift reminders, payout updates, and security alerts.
  • Safety and Integrity: Ensuring check-ins happen at the correct hotel location, preventing fraud, and resolving disputes.

3. How We Share Your Information

We only share your information in the following situations:

  • With Partner Hotels: When you book a shift, the hosting hotel can see your name, profile photo, phone number, average rating, and educational background to manage staffing and safety.
  • With Service Providers: We work with trusted third-party providers (like Firebase for push notifications and analytics, and payment processors for withdrawals) who perform services on our behalf. These partners only use your data to help run LeapLocus.
  • For Legal Reasons: We may share data if we believe it is required by law, to protect the rights and safety of LeapLocus, our users, or partner venues, or to respond to valid government requests.
  • With Your Consent: We may share information at your direction or when you give us explicit permission.

4. Push Notifications

We send push notifications to keep you updated about:

  • Shifts you have booked or completed.
  • Any status changes in your withdrawal requests.
  • Important account updates, security warnings, or system notices.

You can manage your notification preferences inside your mobile device's system settings.

5. Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously. We use industry-standard measures (including secure network protocols, encryption, and secure local storage) to protect your personal and financial information from unauthorized access, loss, or alteration.

However, please remember that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Retention: We keep your information for as long as your LeapLocus account is active or as needed to provide our services, process payments, and comply with legal requirements.
  • Account Deletion: You have the right to request the deletion of your account and personal data at any time. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your information, except where we are legally required to retain it (e.g., tax records for payouts or dispute resolution history).

7. Children's Privacy

LeapLocus is strictly for adults eligible to work in the hospitality industry. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 18 (or the legal working age in your jurisdiction). If we learn that we have collected personal data from a minor, we will delete it immediately.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements. When we make updates, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your privacy.
